It seems that yet another Nigerian scammer has IMed me looking for money, this time using the name amendaamy on Yahoo.

It's a shame that there is money to be made in this way as they just keep doing it.

Minnesota Law Enforcement

This weekend I am in Minneapolis seeing some family that both lives here and traveled here for the weekend, a grand old time.

Spending as much time on the road to/from work and end up seeing a great many police and highway patrolmen watching for speeders and always enjoy the lengths that the South Dakota folks go to keep themselves out of sight until it’s too late... I think the Minneapolis police and Minnesota highway patrol could learn a few things.

Not 20 minutes after getting into this god awful socialist state there was a bridge ahead and a highway patrolmen sitting under the bridge perpendicular to the road with the only obstruction being one of the support columns.

Amazingly this wasn't the only time I saw this sort of during my 4 hour drive and every time there was a cop hiding it was quite obvious where and after reaching Minneapolis and was driving at speed up I-94 towards my momrs house in Minneapolis I saw yet another cop car sitting next to a bridge column clocking people... Finally I had enough and yelled "What kind of fool sits in place sight to catch speeders?"

Moments after passing I saw the car fly out in to traffic without lights (emergency or headlights (illegal to do that time of night)) and chase down a car in the left lane who was apparently speeding.

Maybe it's not that the police aren't too bright but instead the speeders in this state aren't.

Cert Waiting

One of the things I really hate about doing certification tests is the wait.

It generally isn’t until the start of the next business day that the Pearson-Vue website is updated to reflect the passing of a test and it is anywhere from 3-10 business days (in my experience) that Microsoft’s records are updated to reflect not only the new test but the new certification as well which always grrs me a bit cause dang it... I want my certificate!

MCSD: Microsoft Certified... South Dakotan?

(Yes... I’ve been waiting to use that line for some time now.)

Wahoo! This morning marked my third attempt at taking exam 70-300 and unlike the previous two times... I passed and which now makes me an MCSD!

I’ll say this though... I never ever want to take a test like that again. It's evil! Give me a "What is the right answer?" style of tests any day over this cursed "Which is the best answer?" variety!

Oh well... enough of that... now for some looking into a few tests in the MCTS or MCPD areas.

She began with:

After reading through your profile I got attracted to you and thought it nice to let you know that someone out there care to know you and even meet with you. I'd like to share my expirence with someone too

Not long later she claimed that she was in Liberia... of course that all ended and she disappeared when I replied back:

I know who you are and I know what you want and I will not be sending you any money so you can come to the US to be with me

Oh to have the money to actually be able to go after folks like these.

$229.17

Two years ago today I had the pleasure of coming home to find my air conditioner not in its window and discovered that a neighbor had broken into my house and later discovered that 50-60 dollars worth of loose change had been stolen.



Since that time the coffee can that was emptied has slowly filled and today I took it into the bank and ended up with a deposit of $229.17 and a buck or two in Canadian coins (stupid Canadians and their worthless currency being used in place of valuable American currency).

Now the question... what shall I spend this new found wealth on.

Student loans is my guess.

Damn you 70-300!

After failing it 2 weeks ago by only 33 points this mornings retake was far more difficult and saw me fail by 66 points.

Here’s hoping 3rd times the charm when I take it again in 2 more weeks. I want my MCSD!

IM WTFs?

As much as I love IM applications I'm really starting to get peeved with the junk on them.

The obvious bots on trying to draw me to porn sites are bad, and the Nigerian scammers are worse. This morning I woke to find new IM's on Yahoo from these three users: 'john____________________________', 'cool__kid__', and '__whos_your_daddy__', all saying:

Hi *my name*, STEALTHBOMBER V.3 OWNS YOU!! >:)>:)>:)>:)>:)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And of course Google had no hits for the string in question so am forced to wonder what the point of them was, testing maybe?

Stupid so-called 4 day work week

I’m not by nature a paranoid man... but I tell you that there are times that I think the world has it out for me... and this is one of those weeks. Having a paid day off like July 4th is always a welcome thing to see on the calendar and it is even better when it occurs on a Monday or Friday and leads to a three day weekend... not so when it is midweek.

When on a Tuesday as it was this year it leads to the horrors of a two separate Mondays. When on a Wednesday you are taunted with two very short ‘weeks’ and a laughable excuse for a ‘weekend’ in the middle. Friday though has got to be the worst as it taunts you with the end of the week not once but twice.

This year (like the last many) I went out to Royal River Casino in Flandreau, SD to watch the fireworks (and fires) there and ended up leaving around midnight after we were done at the blackjack table (I was done much earlier but being nice and being the driver we waited)... sadly this late hour meant that I got home and to my bed around 12:30 am and was unable to fall asleep until about one, leaving me with a brisk 5 hours of sleep by the time my alarms woke me at 6:00 am.

Here’s hoping I can catch up on my sleep tonight.
